This time: RomePhotoBlog
1) Please introduce yourself (Name, Location, Age, where do you come from)
My name is Jessica, I’m in my late 20s, and I’m from the United States (Massachusetts to be precise).
2) Which countries/cities have you lived in?
I’ve been living in Rome, Italy since 2005, but before that I spent a year living in London and also spent a semester studying in Padova, Italy in 2001.
3) What is your blog about?
Mine is a photography blog all about Rome. I spend time taking pictures in the city and then try to give little explanations accompanying each photo so people get a sense of what it’s like to live in this city that I have adopted as my home.

4) Why are you blogging? Do you have any goals with it?
I started blogging for two reasons. First, I love photography but wasn’t doing much of it, so this was a push for me to do more. Second, I didn’t find a lot of blog, in English at least, that portrayed the Rome as I saw it, which is as a real living and breathing city and not just a place to hold up as a romanticized place for tourism (though there is plenty worth romanticizing!). My goal is to make people feel like they are part of the city and to understand what it’s like to really live here. Being a foreigner I think I have a bit of perspective on what makes Rome unique to the outside world, but I’m also enough a part of the city to understand (I hope!) some of the more local secrets.

5) Your favorite Italian meal?
Wow…that’s hard! I guess my favorite would be a nice pizza margherita (Roman style, so thinner crust) and a nice cold beer, with some delicious fritti to start as an appetizer.
6) What is your favorite Italian song?
I’ve got to say that I’m not a huge fan of Italian music, but I do enjoy Subsonica, a group from Turin. I like a lot of their songs, but maybe the song Abitudine is my favorite.
7) Do you have recommended links concerning the subject of your blog or Italy in general?
There are some great blogs about Rome that I’ve found. If you like restaurants, try Food in Rome (www.foodinrome.com). Eternally Cool (www.eternallycool.net) always has weird and quirky posts. And if you can read Italian, 06blog (www.06blog.it) is the place to go for any sort of news on Rome.
8) Anything to add?
Just thank you for reading the blog and I hope you continue to enjoy how I’m showing the city!
