Introduced! Ciao Amalfi!

This time: Ciao Amalfi!

1) Please introduce yourself (Name, Location, Age, where do you come from)
My name is Laura and I’m an American expat living on Italy’s beautiful Amalfi Coast. I was born in Nebraska, but I have lived in many places in America (See question 2). I’m trained as an art historian, but right now I am pursuing freelance travel writing in Italy. I feel very lucky to be pursuing my dream of a writing career in such a beautiful location!

2) Which countries/cities have you lived in?
I’m a bit of a nomad since I’ve lived in 8 states in America: Nebraska, Iowa, New Mexico, Florida, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia and Minnesota. Growing up I spent half my childhood in Nebraska and the other half in Florida. I attended college in Annapolis, Maryland and did my graduate work in Art History in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis /
St. Paul) of Minnesota.

3) What is your blog about?
My blog is about life on the Amalfi Coast and the beauty, history, and culture of this incredible part of Italy.

4) Why are you blogging? Do you have any goals with it?
I have a deep passion and love for the Amalfi Coast and Campania. I started Ciao Amalfi because I realized I could combine my love of writing with my desire to share this area in Italy with my readers. I enjoy writing about daily life, culture events, holidays, and posting photos on my blog and knowing I make people happy who also share my love of the Amalfi Coast.

5) Your favorite Italian meal?
It’s hard to pick just one! So I will go by season. In the winter I love pasta ceci (pasta with chickpeas) and in the summer a plate of fresh mozzarella from Campania with tomatoes and basil.

6) What is your favorite Italian song?
I smiled when I saw your blog as Jovanotti is my favorite Italian musician! I loved his last album Safari, and right now I am particularly enjoying “Punto.” It has such a great summer feel!

7) Do you have recommended links concerning the subject of your blog or Italy in general?
Many of the blogs on on Blogroll have extensive links to other Italian blogs and websites for information about Italy. One of my favorites is Italytutto where you can search for blogs in Italy by region, subject (like food blogs and photo blogs), and also find helpful forums. There is a wealth of information all gathered in one spot at that website, and I visit there often.

8) Anything to add?
Grazie mille for the opportunity to share my experiences here in Italy and for the lovely shout-out for Ciao Amalfi!
